time has stoped

You couldn't stop looking at your phone's watch as you prayed for the day to magically end. Average school day. As the overwhelming, loud voices of your classmates did nothing but make things worst, you buried your head between your arms, closing your eyes with a long sigh.

Suddenly, the voices all around you stopped, and you raised your head from your arms, looking around with your eyebrows raised and your eyes widening in shock.

Everybody was frozen in time.

As you approached the sassy girl from your class and touched her arm, she unfroze, her previously frozen expression of disdain now moving and contorting her face. She looked up at you, her eyes glinting with anger as she pulled away from your touch. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" she spat, her voice cold and sharp.

As you fell to the ground, hitting your arm on a table, the sassy girl from your class eyed you with a mix of confusion and irritation. "What the hell is wrong with you?" she demanded, as you motioned towards the now-frozen classroom surrounding the two of you. You both glanced around at the immobile students and teacher, taking in the frozen moment of chaos that was frozen in time.

As you and the sassy girl looked around the frozen classroom, you couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the stillness that surrounded you. The students were caught in mid-sentence or mid-action, frozen in time like statues. The chaos and commotion of the lunchtime rush had ceased completely, leaving behind eerie silence. Even the teacher had stopped in her tracks, one hand still holding a poster as if she had been frozen in the middle of hanging it up. You both stood there in silence for a moment, taking in the surreal sight before you.

"It looks like time has stopped," you replied to the sassy girl named Claudia, your tone incredulous. "We're the only ones who can move and interact with the others." You glanced over at her, wondering if she knew anything more about what was going on.
